UNR summer activites and open days

Breathing Places logoBEES Urban Nature Reserve, Summer Activities 2009

We have received a grant from the Big Lottery Fund and Breathing Places.

This will enable us to work with volunteers and general public to improve access to the Reserve and to enhance the wildlife habitats. We will also run a series of activities, open days and organised group sessions for people to enjoy the wildlife at the Reserve.

Events and Open Days:
Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2009, Breathing Places ‘Dirty Weekend’.

Friday 10th July: 10.30am - 3.30pm: dragonflies, surveys and refreshments.

Wednesday 22nd July:  11am- 4pm: dragonflies, art and refreshments. with an opportuntiy to get involved in practical management.

 

Practical days at the Reserve:
Friday 15th May; building steps

Wednesday 3rd June; finishing the steps and improving the paths.

Friday 10th July: summer management of paths and giant hogweed. Also species surveying including dragonflies which should be active at this time of year.

Friday 25th September; pond and meadow management
